Les Editions de l’Octogone
With an extended experience in publishing (Didier Hatier, Marabout, Complexe, A Plus, ...), Danielle Neijs created Les Editions de l'Octogone in the Spring of 1993.
A publishing philosophy
Les Editions de l'Octogone are part of a movement that includes creative « artisan » publishers, in search of new and original subjects and always ready to take on new projects. The company is led by a small and flexible team who works alongside selected collaborators : writers, translators, photographs, cartographers, printers, distributors, press agents and other advisors.
Among its various aspects, Les Editions de l'Octogone are mainly focused on publishing guides and fines books on themes primarily oriented towards the Belgian heritage. These books have become real references in the matter.
An international renown
Les Editions de l'Octogone gained their international fame with “Charming Bed & Breakfast” it also contributed to the development of a new accommodations structure which pleases an ever growing number of people.
With the guide “Charming Bed & Breakfast in Belgium, France en The Netherlands”, Les Editions de l'Octogone defend the entire concept of accommodations at the inhabitant’s home. The guide Modern architecture in Brussels and 200 recettes du terroir are also renown.
A cultural vocation
Les Editions de l'Octogone have largely invested in culture by launching a collection of guides oriented towards the Belgian heritage. These guides are original and fill a void by proposing books on modern architecture in Brussels or contemporary architecture in Belgium for example.
An exceptional literary collection in 8 volumes follows the footsteps of writers who have lived and loved the cities and the regions of Belgium. The places they went to or which inspired them offer a different image of traditional tourist guides.
Fine Books

With a few remarkable works, Les Editions de l'Octogone shows its know-how from poetic topics to documentaries. Renowned writers and original photographers make up the alchemy of thought-provoking titles such as "Ecorces” (“Barks”) and "Semois, les derniers planteurs" (“Semois, the last planters”), Brussels urban landscapes and Louvain-la-Neuve urban landscapes, Vie sauvage en Hautes Fagnes. Carnet d’un coureur des bois.
Custom-made
Les Editions de l'Octogone also produce « custom-made » works based on a consulting service that starts with the concept and ends with the publishing of a work through its production with the help of selected partners. Guides, fine books, catalogues of various cultural sectors, art and tourist books…
